Zimbabwe’s premier tourist destination now boasts its first adults-only accommodation, complete with infinity pool, jacuzzi, beauty spa and an in-house restaurant and bar.
Victoria Falls’ first adults-only lodge opens
Shongwe Oasis Boutique Lodge & Spa opened recently, and is already proving popular with guests.
The lodge is managed by the same family behind Shongwe Lookout, one of the town’s most popular lodges, for local and international guests alike.
Managing Director Jamie Henson says that having developed Shongwe Lookout four years ago as a family-friendly lodge, it was time to focus more on couples and honeymooners. “We really want to be able to offer couples celebrating a special anniversary, or honeymooners, or just those looking for some special time together, the ultimate in relaxation and pampering.”
Jamie says the Shongwe difference is down to the fact that both lodges are family-owned and operated.
Shongwe Oasis partnered with Mvula Spa to create the first-ever purpose built, on-site spa for Victoria Falls guests.
“Mvula Spa is focussed on high-end, boutique treatments for our guests, like hot stone massage, couple’s massage, bathing therapies, and paraffin wax treatments,” said Jamie, using locally sourced and produced products wherever possible.
Shongwe Oasis also offers a jacuzzi, and infinity pool with sit-in loungers. An open-air restaurant and bar will offer guest a-la-carte food and beverage, with a focus on beautiful, tasty meals and drinks that have a distinctly African flair.
